🙌5-Minutes-A-Day Method 🙌 #RT_Report
Hey guys! Yesterday at the Real Talk meetup I heard an amazing inspirational story that I want to share with you. One participant Julia told me that she used to be a singer. She used to sing Jazz and Rock'n'Roll music in a band and that they used to have 2-3 performances every week. But then she had kids to look after and other stuff and so she stopped. A couple of months ago she decided to start singing again. And she's commited herself to sing just for 5 minutes, but every day. Every single day. And so she did. And sometimes she will only sing for 5 minutes and in other days she sings more, 10 minutes, half an hour, even one whole hour. And of course there are days when she completely forgets about it and only remembers about it very late at like 11pm or later. And still she sings just for 5 minutes. Not very loud as the neighbors might already sleep.
So cool! And she admitted that her voice comes back to her and that her friends notice it even when she talks to them by the phone. Wow! And it's just 5 minutes a day! Everybody has 5 minutes a day, it's nothing! Though it can help to build up a habit of doing anything consistently and with ease.
I had the same thing. I wanted to train my memory, but I told myself, I'll do it 3 times a week for 30 minutes. And so what? I did it for a week or two and then stopped. Because it's half an hour! I couldn't get myself to spend this amount of time, I could always find a good excuse not to do it. But now I'm changing my strategy and I'll commit to do smth for my memory every day, but just for 5 minutes. And maybe I will still miss some days, but it's okay, it's a long journey and I want to use this 5-minutes-a-day method to trick my brain to continue as it's just 5 minutes!
P.S. The photo was made 2 weeks before that, but also on Tuesday at Real Talk meetup))
