How can I not love REAL TALK meetings when I meet so many interesting guys ALL THE TIME! 🇰🇷KOREAN ARMY SERVICE and MANCHESTER🇬🇧 #RT_Report 🎩Last Tuesday there were 2 foreigners. One guy from UK. He is originally from Turkey, but has been living in UK for the last years. In Manchester! He said that life is better over there than in London, not so busy and people are happier. Such a friendly and cheerful fellow! He also came last Friday. He invited me to Russian speaking club in Manchester 😂 🎩And the 2nd guy was from Korea. South Korea of course. He called himself Yan, though his real name is more complicated) I talked to him a lot actually, there were not many people in general on Tuesday, so I was lucky in this way 🙌 He is currently serving his army service 🙃They have to do it in South Korea and you can't avoid at all. He told me a looot about it. But all is public information, no secrets were revealed) 🤫 So here are few moments: 🤼‍♂️1. There are no fights. All soldiers are allowed to have holidays every month and vacations. If you were into fight there are no holidays for you or maybe you can even spend some time in prison. 🥩2. They are feed very well. He told me he was a skinny guy (just like me) and he has bulked up in the army. 🍻3. They often play stimulation: North Korea attacks South Korea and after that they all have a party) 🏈4. Most soldiers serve on the border with the North. And there is an American base nextby. They communicate a lot, exchange food and present each other their uniform. 😎5. If you know English you have very good opportunities. You become a translator for your comrades and for officers as well which gives you privileges. Moreover this guy had an opportunity to join United Nations forces and serve a couple of monthes in South Sudan, Africa. And there were soldiers from all over the world and they all spoke English. Not a bad time in the army!! 🤬6. To my surprise I've learnt that in Britain soldiers also play stimulations in which they are under attack from Russians. Damn. How come. Russia was always fighting on the British side. 🙏🏻I'm so happy that at Real Talk meetups you can meet really interesting people. And not only foreigners! Russians are amazing and they are from all different walks of life! A flight attendant? Yes! Yoga teacher? Sure. A game developer? He's been coming to the meetings during last year and he is a very cool guy. Very different from me, that makes it more interesting to learn about his life! 🔜In the next post I'll tell you more about Yan from Korea and how we ended up at Tanya's meetup the next day! Cheers, Anthony
